On June 22, 2024, the "CAM Society for Management Research Method (CAMRM) Development Seminar", organized by the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University and hosted by its Department of Business Administration and the Institute of Management Philosophy and Methodology, was successfully held at the Jiulonghu Campus of Southeast University. This event brought together distinguished scholars and researchers, including Professor Shi Yong, Chairman of the Chinese Academy of Management; Professor Liu Pan, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Southeast University; Professor Chen Yao, Former Vice President of Yangzhou University; Professor Yuan Jianhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University; Professor Zhang Jian, Vice Dean of the School of Government of Central University of Finance and Economics; Professor Lian Yuanqiang, Vice Dean of the Business School of Yangzhou University; Professor Zhang Zhiwang from the College of Information Engineering of Nanjing University of Finance and Economics; and Professor Du Yunzhou from the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University. Professor Yuan Jianhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University, chaired this seminar.
Professor Liu Pan, Executive Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Southeast University, extended a warm welcome on behalf of Southeast University to the experts from the Chinese Academy of Management for their visit and investigation at our school. He emphasized the necessity of strengthening foundational research in management philosophy and methodology in alignment with General Secretary Xi Jinping’s directive to "accelerate the development of a unique Chinese system of philosophy and social sciences, thus building China’s own knowledge framework", as well as with the forefront of academic innovation in international management studies. He noted that the experts’ visit to discuss the establishment of the CAM Society for Management Research Method and to jointly advance the development of management philosophy and methodology holds significant value for promoting fundamental research in Chinese management studies. Professor Liu Pan concluded with best wishes for a successful seminar.
Professor Shi Yong, Chairman of the Chinese Academy of Management, provided an overview of the history and current structure of the Chinese Academy of Management and introduced the members of the expert delegation.
Professor Yuan Jianhong, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Economics and Management of Southeast University, introduced the school and expressed sincere gratitude to the esteemed guests for their ongoing support for the school’s development.
Professor Du Yunzhou presented a proposal for the establishment of the CAM Society for Management Research Method, systematically expounding the necessity, preparation, and future vision for the committee.
Following Professor Du’s presentation, the expert delegation engaged in a lively discussion and offered specific recommendations for establishing the committee.
