Two Faculty Members from the School of Economics and Management Recognized on the "Elsevier 2023 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" List

On March 27th, Elsevier released the 2023 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers list, which recognized Professor He Yong and Professor Cui Qiang from the School of Economics and Management. Their inclusion demonstrates the academic strength and international influence of the School in their respective fields. Professor He Yong was selected for the Management Science and Engineering category, while Professor Cui Qiang was chosen for the Transportation Engineering category. Notably, this marks the fourth consecutive year (2020-2023) that Professor Cui Qiang has been named to this list.

In total, the "2023 Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list features 5,801 individuals from 496 universities, enterprises, and research institutions, covering 10 academic fields and 84 primary disciplines designated by the Ministry of Education. Southeast University has 72 scholars on the list, including two from our School.

The "Highly Cited Chinese Researchers" list by Elsevier utilizes the globally authoritative citation and indexing database Scopus as the source for statistical analysis of Chinese scholars' research achievements. It aims to systematically display the current distribution of talents in China's scientific research fields, accurately present the composition of leading disciplines and academic influence of various universities, enterprises, and research institutions in China, as well as top talents in key technology research and critical areas. The list employs multiple indicators to reflect the impact of scholars' research outcomes in the academic and scientific research fields, showcasing the scholars' academic journeys over the years and bringing outstanding scholars from disciplines with distinct regional characteristics in China into broader visibility.
