In 2023, the School of Economics and Management made a new breakthrough in discipline construction by adding a new doctoral degree-authorized interdisciplinary discipline in Digital Economy and Management as well as a postdoctoral research station in Business Administration!
In September 2023, the Ministry of Education issued the Notice of the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council on Issuing the List of Degree Authorization Points to be Revoked and Added by Degree Authorization Autonomous Audit Units in 2022 (Degree [2023] No. 15), which was considered and approved by the Academic Degrees Committee of the State Council and agreed that Southeast University would set up an additional doctoral degree-authorized interdisciplinary discipline in Digital Economy and Management.
Facing the major strategic needs of the national digital economy, Southeast University, together with China Construction Bank, Bank of China and Kunshan Municipal People's Government, has jointly established the "Institute of Digital Economy and Technology Innovation of Southeast University" to promote the construction of the first doctoral degree-authorized interdisciplinary discipline of Digital Economy and Management in China. As the main college of digital economy and management cross-disciplinary construction, the School of Economics and Management closely follows the main line of the deep integration of digital technology and the real economy, aims to build a digital economy and technology research team with international influence, cultivate a number of industrial shortage talents and first-class leading talents in the cross-compound of digital economy and technology, and strives to become the theoretical research center, scenario promotion center, practice landing center and high-end talent training base in the field of digital economy in China.
In November 2023, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the National Postdoctoral Management Committee jointly issued the Notice on Approving the Establishment of 510 Postdoctoral Research Stations of Philosophy and Other Postdoctoral Research Stations of Northeast Normal University (Letter of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security [2023] No. 108), and the first-class disciplinary doctoral program of Business Administration in Southeast University was approved to set up a postdoctoral research station. So far, the School of Economics and Management has three postdoctoral research stations in Management Science and Engineering, Applied Economics, and Business Administration, realizing the full coverage of all the first-class disciplinary doctoral programs in the School.
School of Economics and Management will take the opportunity of the addition of doctoral degree and postdoctoral research station to continue to cultivate and introduce high-level talents, build high-level research and teaching teams, optimize the layout of disciplines, serve the national strategy and regional economic and social development needs, and continue to push forward the new pattern of high-quality development of academic discipline construction in the School.
