On December 6, 2023, the finals of the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (2023) concluded at Tianjin University. Under the guidance of Professor Gu Xin from the International Economics and Trade Department of the School of Economics and Management, the team "Epoxy Paves Evergreen," consisting of members Lu Guoyang, Kong Junqing, Zhang Weiqiang, Wu Runnan, Mao Xinyu, Duru Sila Angi, Yu Minli, Cui Bingyan, and Claudia Labianca, performed outstandingly and won the national silver award. This is the best result achieved by the School of Economics and Management at Southeast University as the leading unit in this competition!
It is reported that the China International College Students’ Innovation Competition (2023) was jointly organized by the Ministry of Education and 12 other departments, in collaboration with the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, and hosted by Tianjin University. With the theme "Dare to Venture, Able to Innovate", this competition attracted 17.09 million participants from 5296 schools in 151 countries and regions worldwide. Among the 4.21 million participating projects, 1260 outstanding projects stood out and competed in the finals at Tianjin University from December 3rd to 6th.
Project Introduction
In response to the urgent demand for updating and upgrading traffic road materials, the project team successfully launched HPEP epoxy asphalt through independent research and development. The HPEP epoxy asphalt product introduced by the team has shown excellent performance in various performance indicators, not only successfully replacing imported products but also standing out among many similar products. With advanced production technology and high-quality raw materials, the project has successfully achieved domestic low-carbon production, making a positive contribution to promoting the green development of transportation infrastructure in China.
The School of Economics and Management has always attached great importance to the cultivation of students' scientific and technological innovation capabilities, taking the college student innovation competition as an important lever to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education. In order to demonstrate the best state of the team and comprehensively improve the project quality, the school invited experts from inside and outside the university to provide guidance from different perspectives and levels, organized project rehearsals, and polished the project multiple times, continuously improving the project level. While fully preparing for the competition, the school also actively supported the growth of student innovation and entrepreneurship projects from a practical perspective.
