Title: Dynamic Pricing: Challenges and Opportunities
Abstract: Recent years witnessed phenomenal growth of successful deployments of innovative pricing strategies in a variety of industries and active academic research to understand their profound implications on operations. In this talk, I provide a survey on the research of dynamic pricing. I will focus on a few key models and highlight the challenges and opportunities.
Bio: Xin Chen is an associate professor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He obtained his PhD from MIT, MS from Chinese Academy of Sciences and BS from Xiangtan University. His research interest lies in optimization and supply chain management. He received the Informs revenue management and pricing section prize in 2009. He is the coauthor of the book “The Logic of Logistics: Theory, Algorithms, and Applications for Logistics and Supply Chain Management (Second Edition)”.
